Intimate Columbia Wedding - Virginia & Tyler Baldwin
Over the summer, I got to spend the evening in Columbia photographing the Baldwins' wedding. When I met with Virginia and Tyler before their wedding, Virginia shared with me that she didn’t feel the need for me to capture photos of her and Tyler before their ceremony and that they wouldn’t be having bridesmaids and groomsmen. However, she did tell me that their ceremony, the photos of them together, and the reception with all of their friends were the moments that they were going to cherish and wanted photographed. Don’t get me wrong, I love photographing the traditional 8+ hour wedding, with 7 bridesmaids and groomsmen, all of the extra details, etc., but weddings aren’t a one size fits all, and I love getting to be a part of weddings that aren’t cookie-cutter.
Virginia and Tyler had their ceremony at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, and they chose to have only family in attendance. The ceremony itself was very traditional in nature but intimate at the same time.
There’s nothing better than kisses from your little babe.
Summers in South Carolina often mean unexpected rain showers. It rained during their ceremony, but it thankfully stopped just in time for us to snap a few family photos and then some of the bride and groom…and of course a few of Miss Libba. I loved Virginia’s dress! Those Baldwins, they’re one good looking couple.
One thing I really loved about the wedding was that the reception was at Tyler’s parents’ house. The Baldwins have a gorgeous property and home. By the reception being at the Baldwins’ home, it continued the feeling of intimacy that Virginia and Tyler longed for.
All of Virginia and Tyler’s closest friends were invited to the reception, and after the first dances, the party began. The food and drinks were plenty, and we danced all night long.
I’ve been a part of a lot of sparkler exits, but this was the first sparkler exit I’ve photographed that included a golf cart! Seriously, so cute!
Virginia and Tyler, thank you so much for letting me be with and photograph y’all on your special day! I pray all the best for y’all and your marriage.
